Next, she played with The Seattle Washington Sounders Women (now the Sound FC). The Sound FC was located living in France during this season. She was part of the Seattle Reign FC - now OL Reign - of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL, which was formed when the WPS disbanded - then became the team she was playing for. Rapinoe eventually rose to the post of captain, and was one of her team's top scorers.
